My journey to the creation of Barakah Capital began in the shadows of a deep personal betrayal. I had placed my trust and my financial future in the hands of someone I believed to be a friend and a confidant. It was a decision made not out of naivety, but from a position of necessity, as my time and resources were stretched thin. This trust, however, was misplaced. The individual I had relied on not only mismanaged my funds but also sought to tarnish my reputation to hide their deceit.
In this period of profound loss and sadness, I found solace and guidance in my faith. Islamic teachings reminded me that “Indeed, Allah is with the oppressed,” and this message of divine support and justice became a beacon of hope. As I grappled with the aftermath of this betrayal, another powerful teaching resonated with me: “Verily, with hardship comes ease.” This became a source of strength and inspiration.
From these ashes of betrayal, Barakah Capital was born. It was not just a business venture but a mission – a commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct, deeply rooted in the values I hold dear. Barakah Capital was a statement: that from the pain of deceit could emerge a force for good, a symbol of trust and righteousness in the world of finance.
But my vision extended beyond rectifying a personal wrong. Inspired by the principles of Islam, I conceived Barakah Wakaf. This endowment was to be the embodiment of my dedication to philanthropy, with the goal of dedicating 99% of Barakah Capital’s profits to it. Barakah Wakaf is not just an act of charity; it is a commitment to the betterment of humanity, reflecting the Islamic ethos of continuous giving and compassion.
